What’s the difference between loyalty and referrals?
Loyalty programs keep existing customers coming back. Referral programs bring in new customers and help you grow your business. Pollen lets you run both.
Can customers abuse my referral program, and redeem more than one free gift?
No. When a customer refers a friend to you, and that friend redeems their free gift, Pollen won’t let them use another free gift at that location again. Instead, we’ll encourage them to join your program to earn more rewards!
How do I share my program?
After you finish setting everything up, you’ll get one link that lets customers join your program. You can share that link anywhere your customers are: social, your website, and more.
Does Pollen integrate with my POS (Point of Sale)?
Pollen works for any business, no matter what POS you use (even if you’re a cash-only business). You won’t need your POS to redeem gifts or rewards with Pollen. That said, we’re working on integrating with various POS systems in order to give even more robust reporting.
What metrics does Pollen track?
We track all the customers in your program and redemption information (locations, date/time, customer), how many “friends” (referees) you have, and which referees have joined your program. We’re working on adding even more soon.
What if I want to change my program once it’s launched?
No problem! You can edit your programs any time you want, or “pause” your program to temporarily disable referring or loyalty check-ins. This basically just stops everything from working until you start it up again.
How do visitors redeem their gift?
If their phone supports it, they’ll use our “tap to redeem” function, so it’s completely hands-free for you. They’ll walk in, tap, and display their reward to you so you can fulfill it however you like. If their phone doesn’t support “tap to redeem”, you’ll just switch over to any device with internet access, and redeem manually.
Do I have to give a free gift to use the referral tool?
You don’t have to, but we strongly encourage it. Think about it this way: if someone gives you 10% off somewhere, you probably don’t feel a need to go out of your way to check that place out. But if you have a free gift somewhere, that gives you a great reason to stop in and experience the shop. However, we know that for some businesses, free just doesn’t make sense. If you’re a hair salon, boutique, etc., then you’ll probably want to just give a % off - no judgment from us.
Are there any contracts or commitments?
Nope! Just one low monthly cost that gets you every tool we make to help local businesses thrive. We want to keep it simple, and we only want you paying for Pollen as long as it’s helping you.
What happens after the free trial is up?
You won’t be billed until the free trial ends. If you cancel before the end of the free trial, you won’t be charged at all. We do recommend that you run your program for at least 2-3 months, to give you more time to promote it, and get customers using it and referring you. That will give a more accurate view of how well it’s working for you. Do you give refunds?
Because we charge month to month, we don’t give refunds once you’ve been billed for that particular month. However, you can cancel your account at any time, and we won’t bill for the next month or any months moving forward.
I have multiple locations, how much will that cost?
We charge $25/month for your first location. After that, it’s just $10 for each additional location. Our heart is to keep it affordable for small, local business owners.
